About Hills & Ranges Private - Monreale House

Hills & Ranges Private - Monreale House is an intimate luxury rehabilitation residence in Olinda, surrounded by the forested landscape of Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges. Designed for just a handful of guests, the estate offers a secluded alternative to an institutional treatment setting, with self-contained accommodation, private living areas and personalised support. Treatment follows an individual, evidence-based philosophy that considers the physical, psychological and behavioural dimensions of recovery. Programmes may combine one-to-one psychological care, addiction counselling, trauma-informed therapy, family work and structured group sessions. The centre’s 5i® curriculum also draws on cognitive behavioural, dialectical behavioural and abstinence-based recovery principles. Monreale House treats substance use, behavioural addictions and co-occurring mental health concerns. A multidisciplinary team coordinates psychological, medical, nursing, nutritional and wellness support, while therapies such as EMDR, ACT, mindfulness, somatic work and relapse-prevention counselling can be incorporated according to each guest’s needs. Acute withdrawal management may be arranged with an appropriate off-site medical detox provider before residential admission. The restorative setting is integrated into daily life through hiking, yoga, fitness, equine experiences and outdoor recreation. Private rooms, chef-prepared dining, spa facilities, concierge assistance and work-friendly amenities make Monreale House particularly suitable for executives, professionals and families seeking discretion without stepping away from comfort or essential responsibilities.

I had a very disappointing experience with this rehab facility. Despite the extremely high cost around $40,000, the level of care was nowhere near what you would expect. When I attended, there were no healthcare professionals on-site during detox, which is extremely unsafe. I understand that may have changed now, but it certainly wasn’t the case then. They also failed their duty of care in other ways. A staff member engaged in an inappropriate relationship with me and continued sending me inappropriate messages for months after I left. The facility was made aware and showed no accountability whatsoever. The support they offered felt superficial, inconsistent, and far from genuine. They also provided “success rate” statistics that simply don’t align with reality. Based on my experience and the people I went through the program with, those figures felt incredibly misleading. Overall, I would not recommend this facility. Please know that public system options and health-insurance pathways do exist, despite being told otherwise by this rehab. Explore those before spending this kind of money, I went through the public system and I have remained sober.

I recently completed a stay at Harp, and I can honestly say it transformed my life. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported by the staff and fellow participants. The program offered was comprehensive, addressing not just substance abuse but also the underlying issues contributing to my struggles. The structure of the program was well thought out, combining individual therapy, group sessions, and holistic practices like yoga and meditation. This balanced approach allowed me to explore my challenges in a safe environment while also learning valuable coping skills for the future. One of the standout aspects of my experience was the facilitators. Each team member was not only knowledgeable but genuinely invested in our recovery. One facilitator who truly stood out to me was Randall. His empathetic nature and ability to connect with us on a personal level made a significant impact on my journey. Randall took the time to understand my story, offering insights and encouragement that resonated deeply with me. His dedication to helping us overcome our obstacles and find our strengths was inspiring.

Making the decision to admit myself into a rehabilitation clinic was a scary concept but I am a big believer that if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got. I had deprived myself from the life I knew I deserved for long enough and had come to the realisation that I couldn’t do it on my own. With that, I had done a thorough research on the private rehabs around Australia and all signs pointed to Hills & Rangers Private. I had submitted my enquiry at 10:30pm on a Sunday night and within minutes my phone rang and I was greeted by Michael who listened to my every word and made me feel welcomed immediately. The process for admission was seamless and I was on my way. From the moment I arrived at Hills & Rangers I was greeted by team of loving and compassionate staff. Matt and his team in the house made themselves available to me in every way a vulnerable and scared attendee could ever ask for. From around the clock service and support as well as the curriculum and all the additional forms of therapy I was well on my way in discovering my new life. In addition to the life changing education and therapy I received the amenities were next level! With a private spa, weekly massages and even horse riding which is crucial for downtime as the self discovery and the therapy that is provided in this facility is confronting however its so effective. I’ve spent close to 2 decades in constant therapy across all professions, nothing has come close to the self awareness and the education I received regarding my addiction. I also hate to admit it but the beds were more comfy here than my very own! The food? Don’t even get me started on the food. The chef Sam has mastered the craft when it comes to Gourmet cuisine as those 3 square meals we got daily were out of this world. The guy deserves a Michelin Star ⭐️ Overall? Hills and Rangers provided me an experience that I could never have imagined, I got so much more out of my stay than I ever thought possible. I am happy to say that I am now living as a recovering addict and am starting to revive the gifts of sobriety - Thanks to Harp and the team. I could never thank you guys enough for the foundation you helped me build. Onwards and upwards!
